"No. But I'm thinking of growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist."

fox grove...

Welcome to my little home. I've been here for seven years, piling things away and creating bits to put up on the walls of my brain. I'm sure there will be a lot of things that completely uninterest the rest of the world, which is fine by me; it just gives me a better opportunity to meet and play with those people that do. The name was pulled out of my open head at random, thinking of things I love and places I'd want to spend my time if I could. Fox Grove seems to encompass that, though once in a while I feel as if it's a bit outdated. Then I realize that I would prefer to not have a catchy, "witty", appealing name. I guess that applies to a lot of areas of my life. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will become a Cat Lady in my old age.

This is my home and you are welcome to it.

I write, I take pictures and I try occasionally to stay on top of the nicest graphical and layout styles. The writings will likely rarely be placed up here because I am amazingly paranoid that someone will steal them as their own, but photoshopped creations and pictures taken by me will either be up or linked to.

This place is going to be as cozy and personal as I can make it, a virtual nest for myself if you will (although, hopefully not the kind of nest that Rat Kings come out of. Man the thought of those things creeps me out). The goal was always to make this a little home for myself, though I suppose it won't actually be anything like I dream of - unless William Gibson's world becomes reality soon. Which would be awesome, but unlikely.

Filed Away: I got my fanlistings organized and filed away under the 'Kym' page. I deleted a lot and even joined one or two more, though mostly for the sake of hopefully exposing people to the good shit I like (even if I often seem to have the taste of a five year old).

the future...

Eventually, there will be a blog up here of stuff I want and things I have spent money on. This is important to me because A) I have expensive taste, B) I do not get to actually indulge in that expensive taste very often and C) I am sick of having people buy things off my Amazon list which, don't get me wrong, is fairly important and expansive but not quite as much fun as getting That One Little But Expensive Thing for a holiday.

Also, there will be a gallery up here for screenshots from Tabula Rasa and any other games I play. I'll have one up for the wallpapers and other images I dick around in Photoshop and make, which will likely only be my focus after catching up the Tabula Rasa gallery. I also will find a way to post up past made icons by myself, likely organized into script form, as I dislike galleries for such small images. Hopefully this will encourage me to make more icons once things settle down.

I'd like to have a place to toss up music, movies/tv, art and actors I am jonesing on so that I can share those with people; that's important to me, as I often have problems finding new music. I may as well try to help people who have the same issue. Somehow I'm thinking this will coincide with a gallery somehow, as I've been starting to make fanmixes - we'll see how that works out.

At some point I'd like to toss up my screencaps into a gallery (probably using Coppermine) so that I don't have to go digging all the time. Though these will be used to make the icons, I do plan on keeping the icons on simple pages, mostly because I think it's more than a little stupid to have an entire, complicated php gallery simply for icons. I guess I'm old fashioned.

the new...

What's new in Coolville. Here are the last 5-10 updates, the amount being determined by my mood, the position of the moon and whether or not there is milk in the fridge:

11.30.07 Still making small adjustements, such as additions to the quote generator and adjustments to existing pages. Am making plans for:
  1. Coppermine for Screencaps
  2. Page to toss up music and make plans for fanmixes
  3. Small gallery for screenshots from games
  4. Pages to toss up user icons
  5. Wordpress Blog
  6. Getting all my books up on library thing; also, find a module for that here
